Any configuration with both a files subsystem and a shell subsystem. This currently includes ssh-only, linux, local. I suspect it should also include windows but I've never managed to successfully launch a server on windows. I can have mmalina check witrh a windows host and see what's wrong.
shouldn't ftp also work with a "assumed started" server ?
Shouldn't we also warn if selected Remote System is not supported? I tried to use Local and got NullPointerException, if local is supported then I probably should report it, shouldn't I?
local worked fine in the past and should still work ....nullpointerexception's aren't ok in any situation.
And yes, if something just wont work we should warn.
I agree that we should improve this if possible - and not just throw a NPE for non-working types. I created for this.
Normally I use SSH and that works. Now I tried FTP: If I press Start, I get a NPE - should be a warning. But in fact even if I set "assume running", it will not publish there. Nothing is copied and I get:
JBossTools is unable to verify that the server is up and responsive.
I will try the windows type later, but I doubt it will work.
EDIT: FTP with "assume started" actually works (both with management api and without) - at first I forgot to set up the management port on the remote server.
