gnodet_gnodet Oct 25, 2007 11:53 AM (in response to konrad_a)Fuse ESB 3.3.x is based on Apache ServiceMix 3.2 (which has not been released yet). For more informations, see this blog entry.

konrad_a Oct 26, 2007 6:40 AM (in response to gnodet_gnodet)In my humble opinion the branching strategy you have described in the blog has some serious limitations. For example how do I know if specific bug, which was fixed and closed on ServiceMix trunk (and scheduled to be released in ServiceMix 3.2) was incorporated into Fuse 3.3.0.0 / Fuse 3.3.0.2 or not?
The concrete example is:
https://issues.apache.org/activemq/browse/SM-1011
Wouldn't it be better to start Fuse 'branch' from specific, released ServiceMix version? This way the bugs/features would be traceable...

Thank you for the suggestion, The one thing we really need to do is provide better release notes that indicate which ServiceMix revisions and issues are included in each Fuse ESB release and actually this task is already being discussed at IONA.
On a slightly different note, the Fuse strategy is no different than RedHat's Linux strategy with the RedHat Enterprise Linux distribution. Please see this blog entry entitled The IONA Fuse Model and It's Benefits to the Community.

konrad_a Oct 31, 2007 5:00 AM (in response to bsnyder)That's a very good idea. Please do include more information in the release notes.
By the way I noticed that Release Notes link on your documentation page is not up to date.
The following page:

points to

while it should point to:
