There isn't a 2.5 release yet, however saying that, there is no difference between the standalone version of hornetq and the version that goes into Wildfly, apart from the fact that you wouldnt get all the other stuff. Why do you want to use HornetQ standalone, Wildfly has a very small footprint and if you cut down the sub systems to be just messaging then iot basically is just standalone.
In case you're interested, you can purchase support from Red Hat for your production environment. That way you can get help when you actually need it (rather than when people have time to comment on a community forum) and official patches for any bugs you need fixed.
