1. Re: Combining log entries from all servers in a server group
ecabrerar Aug 3, 2017 9:31 AM (in response to jvskriubakken)You can do that using Logstash. https://www.elastic.co/products/logstash

3. Re: Combining log entries from all servers in a server group
jvskriubakken Aug 3, 2017 10:02 AM (in response to jvskriubakken)I see,
I'm hoping to find solutions within Wildfly, could someone please confirm that something like the following config would not work:
<servers>
<server name="server-one" group="main-server-group">
<paths>
<path name="jboss.server.log.dir" path="/var/log/jbossdomain/main-server-group" />
</paths>
</server>
<server name="server-two" group="main-server-group" auto-start="true">
<paths>
<path name="jboss.server.log.dir" path="/var/log/jbossdomain/main-server-group" />
</paths>
<socket-bindings port-offset="150"/>
</server>
<server name="server-three" group="main-server-group" auto-start="true">
<paths>
<path name="jboss.server.log.dir" path="/var/log/jbossdomain/main-server-group" />
</paths>
<socket-bindings port-offset="250"/>
</server>
</servers>
..where I try to direct logging from each server in the same group to the same log file. Would Wildfly be able to handle that nicely?

4. Re: Combining log entries from all servers in a server group
claudio4j Aug 3, 2017 11:13 AM (in response to jvskriubakken)Direct different servers to write log to the same file will just overwrite each other, so, not good.
ELK (ElasticSearch + Logstash + Kibana) would be a good opportunity to search for a combined logs from different sources.
But, if that is not possible, you can use wildfly syslog handler to write logs to a syslogd server

jamezp Aug 3, 2017 5:27 PM (in response to claudio4j)It's a bit old but there is a blog post on how to setup WildFly with the ELK stack. Centralized Logging for WildFly with the ELK Stack · WildFly
