There is no official portlet support yet, is something we are working on.
the portlet support is now on the first place on our TODO list
Do you have any idea of an ETA? What are the problems you forsee? Do you feel that it would work with some minor mods, or is more fundamental effort required?
Sorry to seem pushy, but I have to have a solution for ajax in portlets (preferably using jsf) in very short order. If there is something I could get running in the short term with ajax4jsf, then life would be very much easier here!
I'm interested to use ajax4jsf inside portlets. In the latest version of Ajax4jsf Developer Guide I read that Portlets is fully supported now. But here I found that There is no official portlet support yet, is something we are working on...the portlet support is now on the first place on our TODO list.
At present, can I use ajax4jsf inside portlets?
IMHO, no, not out of the box :-(
It is little bit difference between the ability to launch "hello world" application and taking care about all aspect of the portlets environment. According to the estimation, it is required for us from 10 to 15 man/day to solve the known issues.
So, we can speak about end of march or beginning of April time frame (depends of the other issues related to the moving from java.net to jboss.org)
Thanks for that Sergey.
If there's any help I can provide (maybe specific to oracle portal?), then let me know. BTW: where are you doing your dev comms - the jboss dev forum looks rather quiet!
I think we should pass most common use cases before digging into specific ones. As soon as we will be ready for test you can try it and report the problems.
Yes, the JBoss Ajax4jsf Dev forum is a best place to discuss. At the saem time, the JIRA is a best place to post bugs
Our dev forums are so quiet because all developers are busy answering questions in user's forums :-)
That's a joke.
T BTW: where are you doing your dev comms - the jboss dev forum looks rather quiet!
Jira is a good place for short conversations. I even told with myself there couple times already.
yeah, fine - understand - I just wanted to ensure that all developers had migrated to the jboss dev forum, rather than still using a pre-migration forum.
any update as to when anything will be available, even for early test from svn or snapshot jar? the portlet tree on svn still appears to reference cocoon.
I'm having to develop similar functionality separately in order to meet my project deadlines at the moment, which is obviously not a good idea :-(
What kind of functionality you are developing separately?
some very simple equivalents to the support and commandButton tags, at the moment, to get something working as I have to show something to my customer.
I will probably have to continue with this as we've discovered a bug in oracle portal that causes a problem with xmlhttp posts, but once the bug is fixed, I would very much like to use Ajax4JSF
