This information has been obtained from Core Developers Network and http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat since they are the development teams responsible for the servlet containers integrated with JBoss. -

This removes the ability to easily change your application once deployed - which is usually one of the reasons to use a JSP rather than servlets. The packaged web application with pre-compiled JSPs may not necessarily be portable to systems not using the Jasper 2 run-time as some of the code may still rely on the Jasper 2 run-time library. You also need to produce the mappings for the resultant servlets. Another of the drawbacks.
