    <error-page> in web.xml doesnot respond nor catch anything

      I am running JBoss 3.2.1 with Tomcat 4.1.24 and I can't figure out why the <error-page>400<error-page> or any other error doesn't get caught and forwarded to my error.jsp page?

      in the web.xml:

      <error-page>
       <error-code>400</error-code>
       <location>/pages/error/400.jsp</location>
       </error-page>

       <error-page>
       <error-code>404</error-code>
       <location>/pages/error/404.jsp</location>
       </error-page>

       <error-page>
       <error-code>500</error-code>
       <location>/pages/error/500.jsp</location>
       </error-page>

       <error-page>
       <exception-type>javax.servlet.ServletException</exception-type>
       <location>/pages/error/error.jsp</location>
       </error-page>

      and the error pages does exist - I know it because when I type the address to these error pages I get them.

      I am really clueless here and I will be more than happy to get any suggestions.

      Regards,
