JMS Error - With Internal & External IP address

We have to deploy the jboss jms server with the external and internal ip address. Means the server is multiIP - Internal device will talk on Jboss JMS with internal IP address and External Devices will talk on Jboss JMS with external IP address. The problem is External device is able to make the initial context with the Jboss app server but then it does not send the JMS message to the server. It also does not display any error while it trys to send the message. It is like in silence mode.

"javax.naming.CommunicationException [Root exception is java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx; nested exception is:"
The catch is even though we specify in our config file to use external address it somehow tries to connect to internal address.

The OS is Sun Solaris 10.xxx and the Jboss is 3.2.3
