Your post here is very timely. We JUST had a meeting this morning about building out our documentation for the Jopr project. We will be working on building out our documentation very soon.
But for right now, the documentation is not located directly in the Jopr project, however, there is a wealth of information found at our upstream project, RHQ, along with our JON documentation (JON is the commercial product that is based on Jopr):
Please speak about any differences b/n JON and Jopr in terms of UI and features/functionality.
Also, please answer the question regarding clustering support. thx.
You have to remember that...
JON is supported, certified, and pre-integrated with various plugins
JON subscription gives notification of updates and patches
JON subscription allows customers to actually install patches
Like all of our JBoss open source projects, Jopr is about creating a collaborating community to make the product better. It is a true upstream to JON.
Neither JON or Jopr has extensive clustering support, but that is priority one in the next release.
Hope this helps!
The functionalities & plugins of jopr project are the same that JBoss Operations Network ?
If not, what are the differentes on features side ?
Outside of what was mentioned in a previous post about update manipulation, there are no feature differences between Jopr and JBoss Operations Network. In fact, Jopr may have more features at certain points in time due to community involvement of making enhancements.
With JBoss Operations Network, our team will in turn harden and verify the components of Jopr to make it an enterprise ready product. This is the same model that Red Hat uses for all of their products.
Let me know if you need more information...
