Using JBOSS-JMX Start/Stop

I want to be able to start JBOSS on unix/linux from a web console.

Is there a JMX-console available available for JBOSS on Unix/Linux ?

If not, Can I use the JBoss startup Shutdown APIs(Found in org.jboss.server...) in my MBeans ? I can write my own web app and use my MBeans to call the JBOSS APIs.

Can anyone Please advise ?

Any other ideas to do what I am trying to do is appreciated.

Remotely starting JBoss requires the presence of some "other" process that will be active. It is in the works a extended admin console that will let you do this kind of stuff; until then you may want to have a look at this opensource utility:
