We normally monitor our applications with What's Up by having What's Up connect to a certain port on the server and make sure that a connection could be established.
Just wondering if anybody has done this with JBoss and if there is any recommended port. I'm a little concerned that connecting to a port that is expecting some type of action (like a JNDI lookup) without taking that action could cause a problem (e.g. memory leak). We're using 3.2.4RC2 on Windows 2000.
Thanks,
DR
Just FYI - We've set What's Up to connect on port 8093 to monitor JBossMQ. It's been running for a few days and has not caused any problems.
