Well, maybe I'll disapoint you, but I'm facing a similar problem: As soon as I try to use http session clustering, I start having "Internal error 500" reports.
I've been trying with all versions of JBoss/Jetty since at least 3.0.3 up to 3.0.5RC2, and always had this behaviour.
The only clue I have is that one of the objects I use has some non-serializable fiels that when I setted them to transient I was able to get the first page of my app running... (further interactions would fail too).
Strangly, the error logs said nothing about non-serializable exceptions.
I'm still hoping some feedback to have a clue on what to debug. Dunno if with Tomcat there is a better chance or not.
Hi Joao Clemente ,
Thank u for ur response.I've been trying with jboss3.0.3/3.0.4 with tomcat 4.0.5/4.0.6 but i could'nt achieve http session clustering.there was no problem with deployment when i used tag in web.xml and changes made in tomcat4-service.xml for snapshotmode. But couldnot achieve http clustering even farmimg for hot deployment also there is problem.I have gone through many messages in this forum few of them say they got HTTP Session clustering and even farming.i do not know where am i missing.kindly when u overcome the problem do mail me the details
Can you post the part of the server.log with the Tomcat startup and webapp startup.

We are speaking about JBoss/Tomcat - so your answer does not help here...
