jboss 4.2.2.GA on AIX 5.3 performance problem

We're running an jboss 4.2.2.GA on an AIX 5.3 machine.
Our webservice also runs but the performence is about 3 times worse than on a windows xp machine.
The other problem is, that when we call the webservice around 40 times at on time we get some "(503) Webservice temporarily unavailable", which never happens on the windows machine, even when we call it more than 120 times.

Does anyone has a solution for this?

We found out, that the "Service Temporarily Unavailable" Error is a Problem with the Apache load balancer and not with the jboss server.

But we still have the performance problem with the jboss on aix.

With the information you provided noone will be able to give you a solution. But we can start to ask a few questions. :-)

Is the hardware of the AIX machine and the Windows XP machine identical? If not, what is the difference? CPU speed/RAM/#cores?
