I am trying to get JBoss 3.2.2RC3 running on my Linux Advanced Server 2.1. I followed a simple Tutorial that seemed to be highly recomened, but it fails to start. here is the stack trace I see:

Thanks for all your help!
Which JVM are you using? That constant has been there since
From a command prompt I type java -version and this is what I see:
java version "1.3.1"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1)
Classic VM (build 1.3.1, J2RE 1.3.1 IBM build cxia32131-20030329 (JIT enabled: jitc))
There must be some issue with IBM's jdk 1.3.1. I get the same problem. I tried using Sun's jdk 1.4 and it worked fine.
I would have tried IBM's jdk 1.4 but they have released one for Windows yet. Any Linux or AIX people running with IBM's jdk 1.4 and successfully using JBoss 3.2.2?
It works with IBM's jdk 1.4 on AIX
1.4.1 works fine on Linux - on Red Hat with the NPTL implementation, you need to disable NPTL usage on the SDK as it can be a bit unstable; currently the NPTL support is experimental. There are instructions with SDK regarding the setting the environment variable to trick the SDK into believing it is an older kernel.
Other than that rock solid on Red Hat 7.2 and Slackware 9.1.
There is also problem with the IBM's jdk 1.4. It was not stable in the JIT mode. The JVM crashed after a while but it seems ok in classic mode. You switch off JIT by adding -Djava.compiler=NONE to the startup script.
