    mySQL problem

    Nick Taylor Newbie

Hi, i'm trying to run Nukes with mySQL. I've followed the pointers in http://www.jboss.org/modules/bb/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t= but upon starting JBoss (3.2.2RC3) I get the following exception :

JBoss starts up but periodically complains that it can't find the file "C:\java\jboss-3.2.2RC3\server\default\nukes" and nukes is not accessible from a browser.
I can't find any reference to the missing file and suspect its a configuration problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

      Thanks

Correction to my previous post; nukes does deploy and works but JBoss continues to poll the missing file and throws the following exception:

14:19:01,692 ERROR [AbstractDeploymentScanner$ScannerThread] Scanning failed; co
          ntinuing

          run(AbstractDeploymentScanner.java:191)

          Any ideas why ?

no that's weird. I am working with RC2 now. RC4 will be out soon so we'll make the jump to it directly.

I think i've found the problem and its not just with mySQL. It appears to have something to do with the last mbean entry in "nukes/src/resources/nukes-sar/META-INF/jboss-service.xml", the URLDeploymentScanner entry. Commenting out the mbean stops JBoss from looking for an incorrect deployment location. Can anyone clairify what the role of this mbean is? ...i guess its there for a reason although hot redeployment of nukes.ear still works.

But now I see the following exception from Tomcat every time I click on a link:

12:53:46,867 ERROR [Engine] StandardWrapperValve[ResourceServlet]: Servlet.service() for servlet ResourceServlet threw exception
java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer: socket write error
              ...

...but the page still displays ok...its just making my JBoss console look messy :)

right, you missed the point that now, all the nukes modules (except nukes.ear) should be put in a special directory.

you have to create a nukes directory under jboss/server/default and pout nukes modules here, like nukes-journal.ear etc....

the URLDeploymentScanner mbean will then be installed by nukes and will watch this directory. Of course it fails if the directory does not exist.
