    Portal 2.4 Roadmap

      Dear developers,

      after a great 2.2 release, it's time to work on 2.4, the procedure to participate is simple :

      - discussions are held in this forum (the Design of JBoss Portal) but not in this topic. That means that you need to create a topic for the idea you want to discuss about. For that you need to create a subject prefixed with roadmap: in order to distinguish them from others topics, example roadmap: implement some great feature.

      - the document is seeded in the wiki http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=Portal_2_4Roadmap and defines the scope of the roadmap. Modifications have to be discussed before and approved by the project lead (aka myself).

      You can reply on this topic if you want to discuss that procedure only.

          These are the highest prioirty items from a product mgmt view point:
          WSRP, improve testing, parallel rendering engine (TBD)

          Next is:
          CMS (finish 2.2, jBPM integration), GUI, LDAP

          Microcontainer is a JB Portal 3.0 item (next release after 2.4)

            Yes I agree with all your points.

            We'll postpone the microcontainer migration with 3.0 and probably align it with JBoss 5. Also the microcontainer needs more maturity than it has today with respect to deployment and integration with legacy JBoss services.
