Essential Job Functions:

Senior IT Systems Engineer will help implement and maintain growing global IT infrastructure headquartered in Atlanta, GA. Duties will include technical leadership in the implementation of a wide variety of IT infrastructure projects in coordination with and under the supervision of the IT manager. Also includes both corporate desktop and development lab service and support for both local and remote user base. Must be willing to learn new skills and provide off hour emergency support as needed. Required Skills and Experience

- strong knowledge of Unix operating systems (Linux, Solaris, BSD's)
- strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (2k, XP, 2003 server)
- strong knowledge of
- strong knowledge of security technologies (vpn, pf, netfilter, IDS, host security, etc.)
- strong knowledge of network technologies (tcp/ip, switches, routers, security, ipsec, snmp, T1/PRI, wireless, etc.)
- working knowledge of LDAP, RADIUS, apache, email, dns, NFS, JBoss/Tomcat, MySQL, Oracle, SQL server
- strong communication skills
- strong technical writing skills

Preferred Skills and Experience

- Databases: MySQL, Microsoft SQL, Oracle
- Monitoring systems: OpenNMS, Nagios, Big Brother, snort
- Email systems: Microsoft Exchange, Sendmail
- Firewalls: OpenBSD pf, iptables, Nortel Contivity
- Storage: SAN, NAS, Arkeia backup
- Novell eDirectory, BranchOffice, Nterprise Linux a plus
- Nortel BCM Phone Systems
- programming experience: unix shell, perl, java, c/c++
- BS in Computer Science or related technical field a plus
