JBoss Tools support for Richfaces 3.2.2 in XHTML files

Recently I tried to update the richfaces library version in my seam-gen project to richfaces 3.2.2. I followed the instructions in the Richfaces developer guide to install the new version of richfaces but was unable to access the new components within XHTML files.

I posted this problem on the richfaces forum, where it was confirmed by another developer that the new components were only accessible within JSP files not XHTML files. Is there anyone out there who knows how I can get access to the new components (i.e. extendedDataTable) from XHML files. Is this a problem with JBoss Tools and/or Eclipse?

what do you mean access the new components within XHTML files ? You mean via code completion or at runtime ?

Max,

Sorry I should have been more specific. The issue is that within Eclipse, the new components that are included in v. 3.2.2.GA release of the richfaces library are not accessible for code completion nor are they visible in the VPE Editor or the JBoss Tools Palette.

Another person suggested that I need to update the TLD files to replace 3.2.1 for 3.2.2 as follows:

change:
<tlib-version>3.2.1</tlib-version>

to:
<tlib-version>3.2.2</tlib-version>

in richfaces-ui.jar/META-INF/*.tld files

I did this and it had no effect. Anyway, any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I think this be caused by a feature/bug of our completion mechanism which does not properly pick up things from TLD's but instead listen to a statically generated xml file.

This is on our must-fix list after 3 GA.

I'll get Alexander to confirm if i'm wrong/correct.

Max, you are correct. We use some spacial XMLs instead of TLD. TLD is not enough for us. But we should use TLD for code assist anyway.
