Installing Teiid Designer

    Teiid Designer was designed and built as a set of Eclipse plugins written in Java.

    The minimum runtime environment for Designer is:

    • Java 1.6
    • Eclipse 3.7 or greater (Teiid Designer 8.0 is targeted at Eclipse 4.2 environment)

     

    Teiid Designer 8.0 can be installed into Eclipse from either:

    Step 1: Install Eclipse IDE.

    Step 2: Install Designer into your Eclipse environment

         Option A: Update Site Archive

     

    • Download Teiid Designer 8.0 onto your local file system:    http://download.jboss.org/teiid/designer/8.0/teiid-designer-8.0.0.Final-v20121212-1505-H1987.zip
    • Select Help > Install New Software... action from main menu
    • Select Add ... button
    • Enter unique name (example: Teiid Designer 8.0), select Archive... option to browse and select zip file you just downloaded. Select OK.
    • Open the new update site in the tree and select the Data Services feature.
    • Expand the tree and de-select the "Teiid Designer Test" feature.
    • Select Next >
      • If additional plugins are required, a license agreement may be displayed. If so, select "I accept..." and click Finish
    • When installation is complete you will be prompted to re-launch Eclipse to insure the new features are fully operational.

     

         Option B: Update Site URL

     

    • Select Help > Install New Software... action from main menu
    • Select Available Software tab
    • Enter the URL:  http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/development/juno/soa-tooling/teiddesigner/8.0.0.Final/ in the "Work with" entry field and hit Enter.
    • Select the Data Services feature.
    • Expand the tree and de-select the "Teiid Designer Test" feature.
    • Select Install... button.
    • Select Next >
      • If additional plugins are required, a license agreement may be displayed. If so, select "I accept..." and click Finish
    • When installation is complete you will be prompted to re-launch Eclipse to insure the new features are fully operational.
