    The JAVA_OPTS environment variable can be used to specify additional arguments to the JVM JBoss will be run in.   These can be set as regular environment variables on the platform, in the startup script ( or run.bat, or (when using in run.conf.


    Some examples:


    Memory settings

    JAVA_OPTS="-server -Xms128m -Xmx512m"


    JDK 1.3.1 JPDA settings

    JAVA_OPTS="-classic -Xdebug -Xnoagent -Djava.compiler=NONE -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,address=8787,server=y,suspend=y"


    JDK 1.4.1 JPDA settings

    JAVA_OPTS="-Xdebug -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,address=8787,server=y,suspend=y"
