Version 9

    JBoss User Groups

There is already a page on the jboss.com website dedicated to JBugs:

    http://www.jboss.org/events/jbug

This needs to be moved to the jboss.org site and the content for the overview changed in order to reflect the emphasis on community versus Professional Open Source. The current text reads:

A JBoss User Group (JBug) is a group of people who share a common interest in JBoss Professional Open Source products (JBoss AS, Hibernate, Apache Tomcat, and others). They meet on a regular basis to discuss new technologies, development methodologies, interesting use cases, and similar technical topics.

These groups are independent of JBoss - organized and supported by JBoss customers and users. The goal of all JBoss User Groups is to promote Professional Open Source Advocacy, Education, Support and Socializing.

The How to Start a JBug text also needs to be rewritten to emphasize JBoss.ORG:

    How to Start a JBug

If there is not a JBoss User Group in your area, JBoss is more than happy to help you start one. With a little effort on your part to get the ball rolling - the results are very rewarding both personally and professionally. Contact usergroups@jboss.com to find out how to start a JBug in your area or industry.

A JBoss User Group (JBug) is a group of people who share a common interest in JBoss software. They are organized and supported by the community and meet on a regular basis to discuss new technologies, development methodologies, interesting use cases and similar technical topics.

The goal of all JBoss User Groups is to promote open source advocacy, education, support and socializing.

If you would like to meet face-to-face with other members of the JBoss Community then you can attend one of the JBoss User Group  (JBUGS) meetings in your local area.

Similarly if you have something that you would like to talk about then feel free to contact your local JBUG and ask to give a small presentation at the next meeting.
