You can edit the jbossweb-tomcat50.sar/server.xml configuration file and uncomment the org.jboss.web.tomcat.tc5.jca.CachedConnectionValve element. It isn't enabled by default to avoid the following overheads:

1. On static files served by Tomcat

2. When you know you don't have a problem
