Using Seam With ICEfaces
-
*For a well-organized, helpful & active forum, see [ICEfaces forum: Jboss Seam
Integration|http://www.icefaces.org/JForum/forums/show/22.page]*
The ICEfaces forum includes other helpful sections on Components, Portlets, Tools for IDE's, General Help, Development Build Feedback, News & Announcements, Async HTTP Server and includes Guidelines for using the forum.
Possible configurations for using Seam With ICEfaces include:-
jboss-seam-1.2.1.GA & myfaces (jsf-1.1 implementation)
jboss-seam-1.2.1.GA & jsf-1.2 implementation jars
jboss-seam-2.0.0.GA & jsf-1.2 implementation jars
A sample application illustrating the use of ICEfaces components may be downloaded from the ICEfaces download page under the Jboss Seam heading. See the README file for instructions on building an EAR application with any of the 3 above configurations. Also available in the same download location, icefaces-seam-gen is a variation of seam-gen with ICEfaces components and capabilities for jboss-seam-1.2.1.GA only.
Available in the distribution of jboss-seam-2.0.0.GA (and future distributions), seam-gen now carries an option for ICEfaces generated EAR and WAR applications. Just download the version of ICEfaces (1.6.1 is the minimum recommendation) you want to use, specify the icefaces home directory (has /lib as a child) in the seam-gen build script, and generate an ICEfaces/Seam application. An ICEfaces-seam booking application is also available in the jboss-seam-2.0.0.GA distribution in the examples\icefaces folder.
