Which version of Java should be used with JBMS 1.0M3

Any version of Java 1.4.2 or greater can be used with JBoss Mail Server 1.0M3; however, we strongly recommend that you upgrade to JDK 5.0_01 or later in order to take advantage of vast improvements in stability and performance.  For large scale systems there are serious problems with the parallel garbage collector that make achieving both performance and stabillity difficult for Java.  Lastly, we will likely require 1.5 (aka 5.0 -- Sun please stop creating goofy double versioning systems or switching them for marketing reasons) for the final release.

Most platforms now support JDK 5.0 from Windows to Linux to AIX to Mac OS X and even mainframe/midrange platforms.
