Join us for this informative and and technical talk with Grant Shipley - PaaS Evangelist at Red Hat, to learn how to unlock the power of Java EE6 in the Cloud with JBoss AS7 and OpenShift. First, we'll cover what's new and exciting in Java EE6, especially Contexts and Dependency Injection (CDI). Next we'll show you how to take a sample Java EE6 application, deploy, manage and scale it in the cloud leveraging JBoss AS7 running on the OpenShift platform-as-a-service. Everything you'll see in the talk you'll be able to repeat at home. We'll also provide code and free Amazon EC2 credits. If you are interested in learning about the benefits of Java EE6, what's new in JBoss AS7 and how to get all that goodness in the cloud, this talk is for you.

About the Speaker
Grant Shipley is an OpenShift PaaS Evangelist at Red Hat focused on cloud technologies. Prior to that, Grant was a Manager of Software Development with responsibilities over the www.redhat.com website and supporting infrastructure. Grant has over 10 years of software development experience focusing on Java and PHP. In his free time, he contributes to several open source projects including Media Portal and www.follw.it as well as developing iOS applications. Grant has been using Linux on a daily basis since 1994 and is active in the FOSS community.
