    WildFly 8.1.0.Final Release Notes

     

    This release includes a few minor enhancements and a large number of bug fixes

     

    Notable Updates Since 8.0.0.Final


    WildFly now automatically adjusts web server thread pool defaults according to your system's capabilities

    Distribution size was decreased by slimming admin console and removing a few obsolete modules.

    Undertow subsystem now includes additional options in SSO and access log configuration.

    AJP now supports external authentication

    Resource injection now supports external JNDI contexts

    Security realms now support PKCS12 keystores.

    JSP Compilation now supports JDK8

    EJBs are no longer required to have a no-arg constructor when CDI is used

    LDAP Referrals are now supported by management authentication and group loading

    Jackson2 is now the default jackson provider with JAX-RS / RestEASY

    Improved initial SSL handshake in certain scenarios


    New In-place Update Package


    WildFly 8.1.0.Final now offers an update package download that allows you to upgrade an existing WildFly 8.0.0.Final distribution, while preserving your configuration, deployments, and additional modules. This update is based on the new patching infrastructure that was added in 8.0. The new update zip includes a README.txt file with detailed instructions on the patch procedure, and a patch file for use with the CLI's patch command.


    Due to the breadth of change in the 8.1.0.Final release, the update package is large. Future releases of WildFly will employ a more optimal packaging format to dramatically reduce patch sizes for similar scale releases.
