1. Re: Release date for Productin Version of JBOSS 4.0
ultranet Sep 27, 2003 2:47 AM (in response to kdilbeck)Is JBoss making an effort to be a licensed J2EE 2.4 solution? I guess the reason i ask, is it makes people feel more comfortable that their apps are portable, etc. Of course AOP aspects of things don't have to be portable yet, but at least it's good to know that non-AOP code is.
Thanks,

gsarno Oct 8, 2003 6:47 AM (in response to kdilbeck)Hi,
how can JBOSS 4.0 be certified J2EE1.4 by the end of the year,
if the spec is not going to be ready but that time ?
Thanks.

5. Re: Release date for Productin Version of JBOSS 4.0
gsarno Oct 10, 2003 4:34 AM (in response to kdilbeck)Hi sorry,
but the very first question was :
Is there an official target release date for the production ready version of JBOSS 4.0 with J2EE 1.4 support?
And I though that support meant certification.
Sorry about the misunderstanding.
I'll reformulate the question:
When do you think JBOSS will be certified J2EE 1.4 ?
Thanks.

juha Oct 10, 2003 10:56 AM (in response to kdilbeck)That is up to Sun Microsystems. JBoss Group has offered to pay for the certification. It seems however that Sun is not in a hurry to move this forward.

leizhu Nov 5, 2003 2:59 PM (in response to kdilbeck)Is JBoss 4.0 still on schedule for end of the year 2003 release? It looks like Developer release 3.0 is not yet posted. Are we skipping DDR 3.0?
Thanks -

juha Nov 5, 2003 5:27 PM (in response to kdilbeck)We've updated the roadmap (it's going to appear on the website soon) so right now it looks like the 1Q of 2004.

serrano Feb 6, 2004 11:07 AM (in response to kdilbeck)Hi Juha,
At this moment, is the expected release date for the production version of JBoss 4.0 the first quartal of 2004? Or is being delayed again?
Best regards,

The only calendar related info that I could pick up from the roadmap is pointing to Q2/04, correct?
(the short term tasks do not have any release date!)
I was wondering the JBoss 4.0 JCA situation, that is the FINAL version coming before summer or after it?
The roadmap doesn't specify that what is the total amount of the JCA task and so it's specification that there is 20% done in the JCA points me that it's risky to plan using the JBoss 4.0 for JCA 1.5 testing even in Q2.

12. Re: Release date for Productin Version of JBOSS 4.0
juha Feb 24, 2004 6:36 AM (in response to kdilbeck)JCA 1.5 is a requirement for J2EE 1.4, so it will be in 4.0

Yes, but if the current implementation is covering only 20% of the total in JCA 1.5 task, is the possibility very low to have some beta version of JBoss (with working JCA 1.5) before summer ?
(I was planning to use JBoss in my JCA 1.5 test in 2 moths time, but now it seems not so wise plan!)
