why did you prefered to use ajax controls for navigation action? If you really need this - add<redirect/>
tag to your case. -

yes, i could use .
the problem is that we don't want to put the bean in session scope (and a redirect will reset our bean). so we need a forward. probably we should look for another way to do this. Could shale dialog (or shale view controller with its prerender()) be of help?
Perhaps we are trying to solve our problem the wrong way. our intent is to use the commandLink to preload data into the bean so that when we forward to the next page the bean is ready to be displayed. -
