Howto close 2 modal panels with 1 rich:componentControl?

I open a modal panel which has a cancel button inside. When this cancel button is clicked, another modal panel is opened for confirmation. If 'Yes' is clicked on the confirmation modal panel, both modal panels should be closed. How do I achieve that?
