rali.genova Aug 22, 2006 4:43 PM (in response to bmk)Brice,
I couldn't reproduce your errors - when I login, I can expand the root and view the default portal, and its pages. Could you try clearing your browser cache or restarting the server?

bmk Aug 22, 2006 5:05 PM (in response to bmk)Hi Rali,
Thank you very much for your rapid response.
I am on Suse 10.1 with Firefox 1.5.0.4, Opera 9, Konqueror 3.5.1.
I try with all these browser. But no chance.
I have cleared the cache, I have relaunched the server, but the problem remains. Same error message!
Hmm, I have no clues.
Cordially,

claprun Aug 22, 2006 5:10 PM (in response to bmk)Can you look into the server.log to see if there is any error? The Facelet error on the console can be ignored.

4. Re: Problem about Management Portlet
bmk Aug 22, 2006 5:36 PM (in response to bmk)I had a look at server.log but the only errors I found are those I put in my post. Very strange.
Thank you for your help.

5. Re: Problem about Management Portlet
atma Aug 23, 2006 5:37 AM (in response to bmk)I have a similar problem: I downloaded the JBoss-portal-2.4.0-bundled zip and extracted it onto a Windows XP SP2 pentium pc. The portal comes up, but when I login as admin, and go to the admin page the Admin Management portlet does not come up, but shows this message:
An error occured while rendering window 'default.Admin.ManagementPortletWindow'
/WEB-INF/jsp/management/index.xhtml @41,58 rendered="#{!empty node.children}": org.jboss.portal.core.portlet.management.LazyPortalObjectTreeNode
Does this look familiar to anybody, and if so what is the resolution?

6. Re: Problem about Management Portlet
bmk Aug 23, 2006 7:23 AM (in response to bmk)Hi Atma,
I see that you are installing on Windows. I have no problem with Windows even with IE or Firefox. I can access Porlet Management and expand the root tree. But I still have problem on Linux Suse 10.1.
I have no problem with the Portal 2.4 RC3.

7. Re: Problem about Management Portlet
bdaw Aug 23, 2006 10:13 AM (in response to bmk)looks like no one in core team is encouring this problem. It may be related to browser version or javascript settings I think. It looks like tomahawk tree2 component problem. You can try upgrading myfaces jars to newer versions - I know that lot of bugs in tomahawk was corrected. At the moment we cannot upgrade them in portal distro

9. Re: Problem about Management Portlet
bdaw Aug 23, 2006 11:40 AM (in response to bmk)The one in portal is:
Implementation-Version: 1.1.1 (October 25 2005)
you can find it in jboss-portal.sar/lib/tomahawk.jar
Also you probably need to upgrade other myfaces libs to handle dependencies. They are shipped with AS in:
jboss-4.0.4.GA\server\default\deploy\jbossweb-tomcat55.sar\jsf-libs\
let us know if you succeeded. -
10. Re: Problem about Management Portlet
bmk Aug 23, 2006 11:51 AM (in response to bmk)Boleslaw,
I see also the tomahawk.tld and tomahawk.taglib.xml files under portal-core.war/WEB-INF. Do you think these files don't be needed to be touched?
I will just update the tomahawk.jar file and it will be OK?
Thanks.

11. Re: Problem about Management Portlet
bdaw Aug 23, 2006 11:56 AM (in response to bmk)I guess not. newest tomahawk will probably need newer myfaces lib. But I haven't try swaping it yet. tld and xml should be fine

I have no problem with Portal 2.4 RC3 nor with Portal 2.2.1 on with
Portal 2.4 GA. So something has been changed in Portal 2.4 GA.
Thank you for your help.

13. Re: Problem about Management Portlet
atma Aug 24, 2006 12:06 PM (in response to bmk)The problem I had, which affected both 2.4.0 and 2.2.1 SP3, although in slightly different ways was caused by my use of jdk 1.6 instead of 1.5. With 1.5 the Admin.ManagementPortletWindow does come up in a usable way although it still generates a number java faces error. But that does not seem to harm.

14. Re: Problem about Management Portlet
bmk Aug 24, 2006 5:25 PM (in response to bmk)Hi,
In fact, the version Jboss-portal-2.4.0.bundled does not work for me.
I installed first Jboss AS 4.0.4 then Jboss-Portal-2.4.0, and it is now working for me.
