i want to understand where is this DB? i'm using mysql and i don't see any table which contains any information about the construction of pages. -

e.g.
I have a wiki page, and I add the User component above it on the page. when I restart the server the User component has gone... -

Tony, that's probably because you defined <if-exists>overwrite</if-exists> in your XML descriptor for the page you changed.
If you want to use the management portlet, then use <if-exists>keep</if-exists> or simply drop the -object.xml file defining this page.
