exposing back end web services thru portlet?

Are there any issues or special features in JBoss Portal to facilitate web service access through portlets?

Or is this just something we do programmatically, possibly with Seam?

There's no particular facility provided by JBoss Portal to access web services from a portlet as it's portlet-specific and outside of the scope of JSR-168. Any such facility would tie your portlet code to JBoss Portal...

What exactly do you have in mind?
