is there any way to edit the cms content directly in the portlet? and not already passing via cms administration?

i saw a portlet named "portlet content edit", what is that for?

And, in the portlet definition xml file, i saw that the cms portlet supports "view" and "edit_content" mode. is the "edit_content" mode implanted or not yet?
