RedeliveryDelay is not honoured

JBM 1.2_SP2
JBoss 4.0.5.GA

I have set up RedeliveryDelay attribute to 500000 to test a simple scenario - however, the messages are delivered to MDB instantly inspite of this delay.

I have the DefaultRedelveryDelay set to 100000 too.

Any pointers as to what happening here?

Please can you describe what you are doing in more detail?

Note that Redelivery delay is RE-delivery delay, not delivery delay.

I.e. the intention is not to delay the first delivery of the message, but to delay any subsequent deliveries that may occur after rollback.

If you want to delay the *first* delivery you can do a scheduled delivery as described in: http://labs.jboss.com/file-access/default/members/jbossmessaging/freezone/docs/userguide-1.4.0.GA/html/configuration.html#conf.destination.queue.attributes.scheduledmessagecount

Tim, I am looking for *RedeliveryDelay* to introduce a time gap before redelivery of the failed delivery - usually after a rollback set in MDB due to an exception.

My messaging-service.xml has this attribute set as
<attribute name="DefaultRedeliveryDelay">10000</attribute>

I tried to set the redelivery delay on individual destination as well, but no success:
<attribute name="RedeliveryDelay">500000</attribute>

This looks like something that was fixed back in July for the 1.4.0.CR1 release
