    setPropertyActionListener not populating target

      Once I get inside of my actionListener "editCube", I need to work with my workingPackingCratingArtl that was set with f:setPropertyActionListener. Problem is that workingPackingCratingArtl has not been set. workingPackingCratingArtl is request scope and I'm using t:saveState to preserver it. I'm I missing something obvious?

      <t:saveState value="#{workingPackingCratingArtl}"></t:saveState>

      <rich:dataTable id="selectedArticles" value="#{roomCtrl.selectedArticles}" rowKeyVar="rowNum"
       var="row" rendered="#{roomCtrl.showSelectedArticles}">
       <rich:column sortable="false">
       <rich:inplaceInput value="#{row.cubeNbr}">
       <a4j:support event="onclick"
       actionListener="#{roomCtrl.editCube}"
       oncomplete="Richfaces.showModalPanel('panelAddPackCrate')"
       reRender="panelAddPackCrate">
       <f:setPropertyActionListener target="#{workingPackingCratingArtl}" value="#{row}"/>
       </a4j:support>
       </rich:inplaceInput>
       </rich:column>
      </rich:dataTable>
