Scaling JBoss Web Server to Application server

Hi:

I would like to use JBoss Web Server to serve static content and not use Apache Http server.

As I understand, JBoss Web Server is comparable in performance to Apache Http Server. Where can I find performance benchmark reports for JBoss Web Server vs Apache http server for static content ?

I also have the following questions:
1. Will JBoss Web Server or it's features be a part of JBoss 4.0.4 release or will it remain separate product ?
2. We are using a customized JBoss application server configuration for JBoss 4.0.3SP1 which is based on the "all" (clustering) configuration. Is it possible to port a customized JBoss application server configuration to JBoss Web Server ? If yes, what are the steps required for such a port ?

Hi,

The benchmarks are tricky bussines :)
Anyhow, here is one example:

It shows the performance for static content delivery compared
with Tomcat (or JBoss AS) and Apache httpd/worker mpm.

You can note that for the larger files (+100K) the performace is
the same, because both Httpd and JbossWeb use sendfile support
provided by the APR library.
