Is there a reason why the protected method ContentBasedWiretap.routeMessage is marked final? I wanted to create a ContentBasedDetour (http://www.enterpriseintegrationpatterns.com/Detour.html) class and the easiest way to implement this pattern is to override this method.. which isn't possible.
