I tried deploying Forums 2.6.4 Alpha on Portal 2.7.0GA (JDK6) without much success. It's clear from the list of Forums downloads that there is a version for different Portal releases.
If that's the case then I guess that a Forums version for Portal 2.7 is (hopefully) in the making.
