niknik77771 Sep 13, 2010 7:11 PM (in response to ilya_shaikovsky)Hello Ilya.
I see source code is available. Great news.
Unfortunately, pom.xml is rather complex.
Would you be able to propose developer of demo application to use gae-maven-plugin?
This project updates on the regular basis and the maintainer is very friendly. Plugin usage is pleasent and users of RichFaces can start with maven and gae very fast. For another thing plugin has gae-archetype-jsp.
Also, richfaces-gae archetype will be really cool.
Thanks in advanse

http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/richfaces/trunk/archetypes/rf-gae-sample - archetype for gae application with RF 4. check readme.txt. It still not announced but we would be glad for any feedback on usage. -

niknik77771 Oct 11, 2010 10:24 AM (in response to ilya_shaikovsky)Thank you Ilya. Very useful answer.
Why do you use Mojarra instead of MyFaces? Mojarra is not fully compatible with GAE because of restricted classes. Your solution described in readme.txt looks like hack. MyFaces supports GAE officially.

notcourage Oct 11, 2010 10:30 AM (in response to ilya_shaikovsky)I'm using the showcase source which comes with M2.
-P gae args passed to what?
I'll try installing one of the maven eclipse plugins so webapp/static-resources is generated. Is that required for all gae apps besides showcase?

24. Re: Google App Engine support status in v4?
ilya_shaikovsky Oct 11, 2010 11:59 AM (in response to niknik77771)But myFaces has more issues than Mojara which prevents some our components/features in general from working (accepted issues in their and our jira). So when we will be able to integrate successfully(works continuously running from both sides) - we will use MyFaces for sure. But anyway - feel free to create requests for special profile for MyFaces. I think it's reasonable and useful.

There are some incompatible code - and no special profile in pom. So please check latest from trunk.
mvn clean install -P gae
that args turning special profile for GAE on durin build.

Hello Ilya.
I see the number of components in GAE showcase is growing constantly. Very impressive work!
I just want to use your library by most comfortable way. You have not answered me about using of RichFaces with nice maven-gae-plugin. In the meanwhile, Google recommends using it. Please, see Google recommendation about using maven with appengine (comment 117). Plugin has JSF Mojarra support. (Actually I didn’t try it, but made my own configuration with MyFaces).
I don’t have maven experience but with this plugin my work is simpler that with Eclipse GAE plugin. I have ability to use my favorite Intellij IDEA. All works practically out of the box! (Just with little tuning some times, but I can do it).
Why don’t you use it? Why do you need one more bicycle?
Thanks in advance.

ilya_shaikovsky Nov 15, 2010 8:04 AM (in response to niknik77771)Actually I just not tried It was just easier for me to create archetype from my complete sample in order to deliver result till the Milestone.
But you're right - need to check it for sure. https://jira.jboss.org/browse/RFPL-920
