Horizontal scroll should be on by default if the content doesn't fit in, check your CSS styling for possible issues.
Believe me, I isolated all my styling and what I found is that only this doctype addition disables the horizontal scrolling.
I wish I could know why.
check please limiattions of using loose.dtd - them are not specific to RF at all but just HTML standard points.1 of 1 people found this helpful
if some demo page contains that dtd declaration - 1) i believe that by mistake and 2) I guess it's used outside the composition tag so being cut by facelets..1 of 1 people found this helpful
That was helpful.
If I want to remove this declaration and still use the RF skinability that dissapears when I remove it, what is your advice?
define strict or transitional doctype instead.
I found the problem thanks to your help.
After I tried all the doctype options that I found in: http://w3schools.com/tags/tag_DOCTYPE.asp
and none of them worked, I took the page source and cut one by one, tag by tag and I found out that I used the deprecated align="right" in the "table" tag.
for some reason, the eclipse editor and my firefox and IE8 browsers don't mention that there is doctype problem in the page.
Instead, both browsers just remove the horizontal scrolling.
Its nothing with richfaces.
Thanks a lot
