2. Re: Must web applicantion be packed to xxx.war?
fxbird Mar 13, 2010 8:36 PM (in response to jaikiran)Thanks.
It can stay in deploy dir as unzipped form, but it still have to stay in the deploy dir, I'm trying to configure some certain file to refer to the web application in my ide. If can't I still need to copy the updated file to deploy dir which is the same thing as packed one.

I am not an IDE user (i use them only as editors). So i won't be of much help here. But if you give more details about your IDE then someone else might be able to help. I know that IDEs are advanced enough to allow your changes to be picked up dynamically without you having to place them in deploy folder.

fxbird Mar 14, 2010 9:00 PM (in response to jaikiran)Hello , I mean if we can lay the web application dir anywhere and then do some configuration so that the deployment is done and that way there's no need to pack . Tomcat4-5.x can do that through configuring the xxx.xml.
I'm using myeclipse and figure out that myeclipse can copy updated file to deployed dir, exploded dir automatically.
