ok the issue is that after integrating HornetQ with Jboss 5.0 ENT when i try to create queues using the Admin Console i get error. i cannot see any queues too. What am i doing wrong.
HornetQ is not integrated with the admin console on 5. When you install it on the Application Server, you have to edit XMLs by hand.
We are working on integrating HornetQ on the next release of JBoss 6. (which is due in 1 or 2 weeks).
You can already check trunk from AS6, and everything should work by default.
Check this thread, since it has some relevant information:
Thanks for the quick reply.
I thought HornetQ can used with JBoss 5.0 ENT. That said is there a way to use any console to check the messages or I have to write my own? Secondly I should be able to use HornetQ from JBoss 5.0 using MDB's right? Also I can use the HornetQ API directly from mdb or i will need to use JMS code.
Pardon if I ask stupid questions as I am moving away form .NET into the Java world. It has been long time since I have looked at Java.
You can use HornetQ with JBoss 5. Just the admin console is not integrated yet. JBoss 6 will have it.
You can directly use HornetQ Api's inside MDBs. However the activation of MDBs (calling the actual receive method) is done through the resource adapter, and we already use the core-api at those places.
I suggest you to read HornetQ's doc.
got it thanks.

Welcome anyway! :-)
Any pointers on using STOMP ?
STOMP is available in Trunk. You could do:
svn co http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/hornetq/trunk/ hornetq
You will see the docs on the distribution under ./build
if you need stomp I would suggest you building from SVN until we release in a couple weeks.
