extended table, preserving state

I had all kinds of problems trying to style my extendedTable with appropriate column sizes and losing the annoying blank column on the right.

Then I hit on the idea of manually adjusting the columns, then looking at the saved_state string and hardcoding that into my app. It works beautifully well. I'm just wondering if there any problems with this approach, eg. the saved state string changing between releases?

as we have no plans for further 3.3.x releases - you should not have such problems

B.t.w. have you tried just CSS solutions?

I spent a long time trying to set widths with CSS, but could never get a satisfactory result.
I also couldn't figure out how to preset which columns were visible and which were hidden.

Setting everything with the preserved-state string seems much more elegant
