solaris 10 native connector very slow

we are on a solaris 10 sparc box running this configuration

          JBoss 4.2.3

          JDK 1.5.0_22

          Apache/2.2.15 (Unix) mod_jk/1.2.28 mod_ssl/2.2.15 OpenSSL/0.9.7d

          jboss-native-2.0.6

      and everything works great.

wanted to upgrade the native connectors to the latest 2.0.9. after the upgrade, requests over the http-connector take an extremely long time (2-4 minutes to serve a page). requests over the ajp-connector always fail with a http 502/bad gateway error. the errors in the mod/jk log indicate the proxy thinks the app server tomcat proces is down after the request timeout is reached. we see the same problem with jbossweb native 2.0.8 and 2.0.9. there are no errors in the app server logs. has anyone else encountered a similar problem on solaris? thanks.
