Admin console and JBoss 5.0.1GA

Hi,

Our production servers are JBoss AS 5.0.1GA, and at this moment, to improve our development and deployment process, we are really needing any version of Admin Console (Embedded JOPR) that works with this version of AS.

I know that 5.1.x and further versions have admin-console, but we have no timetable to migrate to this version or to EAP right now. I tried to install many versions of Embedded JOPR, and none worked. The resources tree don't display any managed server.

Can someone help me?

Hi -

Unfortunately, the admin console is only supported on AS 5.1 CR1 and later. This is because the the jboss-as-5 plugin, the underlying RHQ plugin that is used by EmbJopr to manage AS/EAP 5.x/6.x, uses the app server's Profile Service as the management interface, and the Profile Service was not fully baked until AS 5.1 CR1 (or EAP 5.0 on the product end). The one potential way to get the admin-console working with AS 5.0.x would be to modify the jboss-as plugin (traditionally used to manage AS/EAP 3.2.x and 4.x via JMX) so that it can discover and manage AS 5.0.x via JMX. If you search this forum you should be able to find a thread on that exact topic.
