My application currently uses a rich:dataTable with built-in sorting.

When a column is clicked and re-sorted, I would like to re-render some content outside of the dataTable. Is there any way to accomplish that short of using external sorting? I tried to declare spans around the column heading facets, but the spans' mouse events are not triggered.
