Question: I've reproduced this a few times...When you select a metric, then check the box:
"Update schedules for existing resources of marked type"
And then change the collection interval, then click the arrow button to change it, the metrics collected would go to 0.
For example, if I were to change:
For platform Linux, then check "update schedules for existing resources of marked type" then change the time to say 4 minutes, and click on the arrow button to accept/save it, from then on, ALL linux servers would report 0 free memory and 0 free swap.
I tried this with solaris platforms as well, same thing.
Is this a known issue? Server is running on a CentOS 5.5 32bit, running JDK 1.6.0_21. Clients are running OpenJDK 1.6.0
BTW, when is 4.0 going to be ready? I checked out the preview, it is pretty slick, especially liked the remote agent install. Great stuff!
it looks like you hit https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=642641 Updated code is in git for this.
You may try to group your servers together and then update the schedules on the group level.
For RHQ 4 there is no estimate yet - we have just posted a new preview. See e.g. New preview release of RHQ 4 available
And PLEASE GIVE US FEEDBACK ABOUT IT !!!! :-)
