bypassUpdates="false" is the default value, so model updates should happen. Calendar has AJAXified months scrolling, that's why AJAX-related attributes are there; but date selection does not fire request, you have to add a4j:support to calendar component for this. -

but nothing change (the model is not updated).
Maybe the event isn't right? -
