RF4 M5 - rich:tree - partial tree update mechanism

Is there currently any option to update a tree partially?

For example I have recursive tree, obtained a message with object rendered in tree and want to update a tree partially.

Are we going to implement such a complex or it is good practice to render whole tree instead?

IIRC this is one of the planned features for M5. Lets discuss at the team meeting today. Can you please bring it up there?
