Retrieve sorted data from rich:dataTable

Hi,

I have a standard rich:dataTable and have enabled sortBy on a number of columns. I have another page where I would like to show the same data as a list, with the same sorting applied.

What do I need to do to get the sorted data? Do I need to bind the component?

What I do:
FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(); HtmlDataTable myTable = (HtmlDataTable) context.getViewRoot().findComponent("formName:tableName");

But I'm not sure if this is the proper or best way to.
